High-Precision Skin Analysis
Our analysts are trained in the use and interpretation of data from Loretta’s Dermal Atomic Force Microscopes. This cutting-edge technology gives you access to the nanometric scale, with support from specialized experts.
Cosmetic Expertise
With research managers from the cosmetics field, trained in chemistry and well-versed in active ingredients used in formulation, Loretta’s team can engage in-depth with your formulators and provide tailored reports that support product development.
Research & Experimentation
Constantly pushing the limits of our capabilities, the Loretta team takes part in many research projects, both internally and with partners. We are ready to adapt, transform, and improve our hardware and software to support any innovative nanometric analysis.
Analyzed Parameters
By choosing our service, you receive both the raw data captured by our Dermal Atomic Force Microscope (nanoscopic images of corneocytes) and a full set of parameters processed by our AI and validated by our analysts. These unique, precise, and quantitative data can help you optimize your formulations for maximum efficacy.
Nanotexture
Loretta’s technology allows us to count the number of Circular Nano Objects (CNOs) on the surface of corneocytes — tiny protrusions associated with certain pathologies and overall cellular health.
Barrier Function (ECTI
Nanotexture analysis enables us to calculate the ECTI, or Effective Corneocyte Topographical Index. This index measures the effectiveness of the skin’s barrier function by assessing the ability of each individual cell to interact with surrounding corneocytes and other surfaces.
Roughness
Thanks to 3D data processing using GLCM (Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrices) and wavelet analysis, Loretta delivers highly accurate roughness data in compliance with ISO 25178 standards.
UV Exposure
Based on our research on indoor and outdoor workers, we can assess the UV exposure levels of analyzed samples, a factor that has a major impact on skin condition.
Biological Skin Age
Our technology allows us to estimate the age group of analyzed samples, indicating whether the cells represent youthful or more aged skin.
NMF Estimation
The Natural Moisturizing Factor is a key indicator for many cosmetic products — moisturizers, anti-aging creams, etc. This parameter can be directly extracted from cellular topography.
